Starborn Alchemy uses Shea Butter, Beeswax, Jojoba oil, Almond sweet virgin oil, and Vitamin E in our mixes of Lip Balms. Our Body Butters contain all of the above but also Kukui nut Oil and Avocado Butter which both work great with the skin. We do not use any other additives or flavors in these mixes.

On the mighty wind of the Foo-Dog:
During my travels around the temples of China, I had the good fortune of encountering a fierce species of lion-like creatures by the name of "Foo-Dog." As temple guards they served in pairs, one male and one female andstood around 6 feet at the shoulder. They were quite powerful and terrible to behold only seeming to consume incense smoke or lap up hot teas offered by the temple priests. My curiosity was aroused when I heard the distinct sound of a mighty wind being passed and was then met with the most luxurious of scents. The breeze shook dust from the wooden beams of the temple entrance and stirred the robes of the priests. Looking for the source I found that indeed, one of these great beasts had made wind, and to my surprise the smell of this monster's flatulence was nothing short of heavenly. I hastened to write down the smell of his thunderous fart to be reproduced later - though the smell of the great Foo Dogs has been locked into my memory.

On experiencing a demon's armpit:
In Eastern Europe I had the misfortune of being snatched up by a demon while exploring an old burial ground. I was released unscathed thanks to the most timely interruption of a brotherhood of Witch Hunters who had been in pursuit of said Demon. Locked in the crook of the demon's arm, fraught with terror, I was surprised to sniff an aroma wafting from his arm-pit. It had a wild spice scent to it - not at all how one would imagine a moist infernal pit would smell. After the demon released me, having flown away, my shoulder and left side were damp, coated in this delicious scent. I hastily returned to my base of operations to write down my experience and attempt to replicate this odor but not before downing a large snifter of brandy. Being held hostage by a winged, horned brute with the strength of twenty men would make even the most pious priest resort to a stiff drink.

On the curious sweat of the Chimera:
I found a captive specimen of the Chimera in Greece. As described in classic representations, it consisted of a lion's body with a living goat's head growing from the middle of the animal's back. The tail ended in the head of a serpent who sinuously lashed about when the creature became excited. The strangest story concerning this Chimera was it had been raised from a kit and was docile. When patted and scratched by human hands, the lion head would rumble forth a low purr and the goat head would quietly bleat it's pleasure. Oddly though, the snake tail having a nasty temper had to be given a respectful berth while interacting with the beast. On hot days the Chimera would sweat profusely emitting a surprising flow of persperation which had a most odd but alluring scent to it. Like the Chimera itself, the scent was mismatched yet formed together in a pleasing, harmonious manner. As of this writing, I have heard word that the Chimera I met in Greece has been mated and given birth to a litter of kits. I wonder if my own household could use it's own Chimera...?
